CMC is owned and operated by local fisherman and diver Eddie Reriti & his partner Tracy Mclean. The Chatham Motels are tidy & modern motel accommodation suitable for both individuals and groups and are very handy to the main township of Waitangi. If you really want to get away from it all stay at the farm house situated on the rugged south coast of Chatham Island. CMC also offer fishing and dive charters, hunting, sightseeing and vehicle hire. The Chatham Islands as a holiday destination offers a unique experience for all ages and is particularly suited to those with a love of the outdoors.

The Chatham Group of Islands are situated approximately 700km from New Zealand. Regular flights to and from the Islands are provided by the local airline, Air Chatham. They service Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and flight times vary between 1.5 and 2 hours. Airline bookings can be made directly with Air Chatham or by ringing their NZ agent Air New Zealand. The Chatham Islands while part of New Zealand are 45 minutes ahead of NZST and as such are first in the world to see the sun each and every day. |

| The Chatham Island and Pitt Island are the first inhabited islands in the world to see the dawn of the new day. The Chatham Island is approximately 90,000 ha in size and has a population of around 650 people. 40% of Islanders are of Moriori decent or Maori decent. The Moriori were the first settlers on the Chathams who named it Rekohu. Later invaded by the Maori, their given to the Island is Wharekauri.
